ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., October 27, 2008 – The Albuquerque Thunderbirds announced today that KDEF 1150 AM will be the official broadcast station for all Thunderbirds home games during the 2008-2009 season.

KDEF 1150AM has an excellent local reputation after over 12 years of broadcasting many New Mexico high school sports as well as New Mexico State University Football and Basketball. KDEF has also covered UNM Baseball and was the broadcast station for the historic Albuquerque Dukes.

Thunderbirds owner Sam Bregman commented “We are extremely excited to have a New Mexico legend like Henry Tafoya calling the Thunderbirds games this year. He is a staple in the New Mexico sports community and we are thrilled to welcome him into the T-Birds family.”

When asked about his new partnership with the Thunderbirds KDEF owner and manager Henry Tafoya said “I am humbled and excited for this challenging new experience. The Albuquerque Thunderbirds provide the best basketball in New Mexico. The people here need to become accustomed to this level of talent and this professional brand of basketball.”
