AUSTIN, TEXAS, Aug. 29, 2011 – The Austin Toros today announced their NBA Development League 2011-12 schedule, opening on the road against the Texas Legends, Saturday, November 26. The Toros-Legends contest is the first of 50 regular season games for the Toros, 24 of which will take place at Cedar Park Center. The Toros home opener comes a week later on Friday, December 2 when they host the Tulsa 66ers at 8:00p.m.
“We’re pleased to provide our fans with our 2011-12 schedule which we feel is one of our best schedules in years,” said Peter Lubell, Toros Chief Operating Officer. “The balance of prime weekend dates along with our weekday games will allow families, schools, businesses and groups the flexibility to experience NBA-caliber basketball in the comfort of Cedar Park Center.”
The NBA D-League Showcase will once again be played this season and take place in mid-January. An announcement with specific details on the event will be announced at a later date. In addition to the NBA D-League Showcase, the NBA D-League All-Star Game is scheduled for Feb. 25 in Orlando.
Lubell added, “This season, we will be partnering with a number of local businesses and area school districts to bring educational programming to local classrooms and help support the development of our youth. We’ll also bring back your favorite themes such as Military Appreciation, Faith and Family, School House Jam and Girls Night Out while introducing new nights like Holiday Hoops, Singles Night, Guys Night Out and Social Media Night. The countdown to December 2nd has begun and we can’t wait to get started.”

For the third consecutive year, the NBA D-League will feature two conferences, East and West. The Eastern Conference will consist of the Dakota Wizards, Erie BayHawks, Fort Wayne Mad Ants, Iowa Energy, Maine Red Claws, Sioux Falls Skyforce, Springfield Armor and the new Cleveland Cavs-owned Canton team, while the Western Conference includes the Austin Toros, Bakersfield Jam, Idaho Stampede, Los Angeles D-Fenders, Reno Bighorns, Rio Grande Valley Vipers, Texas Legends and Tulsa 66ers.
