D-League team seeks skilled, professional performers

    ERIE -- The Erie BayHawks of the NBA Development League will hold open auditions for their professional dance team with two sessions set for September 12-13, 2008.

    The first session is set for Friday, September 12, 7-10 PM at the Avalon Hotel and Conference Center, Presque Isle Ballroom. Dancers will learn a basic routine that they will be expected to perform during final judging.

    The team will be selected during a final judging session, Saturday, September 13, 12-3 PM, at the Millcreek Mall, Main Hall (near Macy’s). This portion of the audition is free and open to the public.

    “We are looking for a group of ladies who are exciting, energetic and engaging performers,” said Stacy Garrastazu, the BayHawks dance team coordinator. “You’ll be expected to bring your best to this audition and really have the opportunity to shine.”

    Niecy Andrews, Assistant Coach of the Cleveland Cavs Girls Dance Team will be one of the celebrity judges for the squad.

    Details and Requirements:

  • $25 non-refundable registration fee.
  • Two non-returnable photographs (one showing face and one showing full body proportions).
  • Waivers and all other forms MUST be completed and are due upon arrival.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and be a high school graduate or have equivalency.
  • Attire: sports bra and half shorts/form-fitting athletic shorts. No pants will be allowed. Sneakers or dance shoes only.
  • Hair and make-up should be game-ready. Try to impress!
  • All completed registrations and fees can be sent in before the first day of try-outs. Registrations and fees will also be accepted the day of try-outs.
