Des Moines, IA (July 6, 2010) – The Iowa Energy have announced open player tryout dates for the 2010-11 NBA Development League season. The Energy will host tryouts in Des Moines as well as Phoenix and Chicago, home of the Energy’s NBA affiliates, the Phoenix Suns and Chicago Bulls.

The tryout will be conducted by the Iowa Energy coaching staff. In addition representatives from the D-League and NBA teams are expected to be in attendance.

“There have been a number of success stories involving players who attended open tryouts. If you want to play professional basketball, this is your chance to earn your way in,” said Nick Nurse, Energy Head Coach.

Space is limited for all tryouts, and spots are reserved on a first come, first served basis. To register for the camp, please complete the Tryout Packet below and mail OR fax those materials, along with your payment. Questions - please call 515-462-2849.

NOTE: Each participant is responsible for their own travel and lodging.

2010 Tryout Registration Packet

Registration: No incomplete registrations will be accepted. You must mail OR fax (515-564-8551) all appropriate forms along with your payment (credit card, cashier's check OR money order ONLY - no personal checks will be accepted). Once payment and forms have been received you will receive a confirmation email or phone call. **Note: Be sure to circle the appropriate location of your tryout on the registration form.

Applications must be received at the Energy office no later than August 31st to qualify for the $125 registration fee. Any applications sent AFTER August 31st, must include the $150 registration fee. Remember - space is limited, so please plan accordingly. If space is available, applicants can register in person the day of tryouts for $150 as well.
