66ERS EDGE BAYHAWKS 85-83 ON THE ROAD

ERIE, Pa., Dec. 23, 2011— Marcus Lewis recorded a season-high 25 points and 15 rebounds for his fourth double-double of the season and Brady Morningstar pitched in 20 points to help push the Tulsa 66ers (7-4) past the Erie BayHawks (4-8) on the road by an 85-83 final Friday evening inside Tullio Arena.

Lewis, who returned to the 66ers this week after participating in the Milwaukee Bucks’ training camp, also led the squad with a game-high eight assists. Also posting double-digit scoring for Tulsa was Dwight Buycks with 13 and Billy Rush with 10.

The game featured 17 lead changes and 11 ties. Aiding Tulsa in the win was a 24-of-36 effort from the free throw line.

Defensively, the 66ers held their second consecutive opponent to under 90 points. Tulsa forced 24 BayHawk turnovers and added 11 steals, led by Lewis and Xavier Alexander with three thefts each.

The 66ers defense also blocked five shots, led by two each from Rush and Nkem Ojougboh.

Leading Erie was Kyle Goldcamp with 25 points and 13 boards.

The Tulsa 66ers next matchup is scheduled for next Thursday, Dec. 29, at home inside the Tulsa Convention Center against the Idaho Stampede at 7 p.m. CST.
