The streak began on December 30 with a 110-91 win at Austin and lasted almost the entire month of January. The Maine Red Claws ended the 66ers streak on Sunday, Jan. 30, with 109-106 win in Portland, Maine.
During the majority of the streak the 66ers proved to be tough on the road, with only four of the 14 victories coming inside the Tulsa Convention Center. The 66ers won eight contests away from Tulsa and two games at the D-League Showcase in South Padre Island, Texas, on Jan. 10th and 12th.
During the winning stretch, the 66ers defeated their opponents by an average score of 107-96, including an average margin of 115-99 in home games.
The 66ers, who put a heavy emphasis on playing hard defensively and being unselfish on offense, won 14 in a row by putting those practices into action.
Defensively, the 66ers held their opponents to just over 44 percent field goal shooting. They also held opponents to under 33 percent shooting from beyond the arc.
The 66ers also forced their opponents into mistakes offensively. During the streak, the 66ers forced 16.1 turnovers per game while recording nearly 8 steals per contest.
Offensively, the 66ers had some of their most efficient outings of the season during the winning streak. In those 14 games, the 66ers averaged nearly 22 assists per game. The 28 assists they recorded in a victory at New Mexico on Jan. 14 was the team’s third-highest assist total of the season.
