Owens, a 6-7 forward, signed the first of two consecutive 10-day contracts with the San Antonio Spurs earlier this season on Jan. 16. He appeared in seven games in San Antonio, averaging 1.3 points in 4.4 minutes per game.
This season in Tulsa, Owens has played in 43 games (42 starts) averaging 12.4 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.2 steals in a team-leading 30.7 minutes while shooting .477 (206-432) from the field. He has scored in double figures 31 times.
Owens will be available for Washington’s road game against Indiana on Wednesday night.
The 66ers begin the first round of the 2011 D-League Playoffs with a best-of-three series against the Texas Legends in Frisco Wednesday night, April 6, at 7 p.m. inside Dr. Pepper Arena. The teams will return to Tulsa for Game Two this Friday, April 8, at the Tulsa Convention Center at 7 p.m.
