PROVO, Utah, Feb. 1, 2008 – The Utah Flash have acquired guard Curtis Stinson to fill the roster spot vacated by forward Britton Johnsen, who has left the team to pursue other basketball opportunities in Turkey.

Stinson, 6-3, 215, was acquired by the Flash with their fourth selection in the 2007 NBA Development League Expansion Draft. An All-Big 12 Conference performer at Iowa State, he elected to play for Kolossos Rodou in Greece, averaging 31.3 minutes, 11.0 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 11 games before being released on Jan. 8.

He has also played professionally in Croatia, as well as for the Dakota Wizards and Fort Worth Flyers in the D-League. An undrafted early entry for the 2006 NBA Draft, Stinson averaged 28.7 minutes, 11.9 points, 5.3 assists and 4.0 rebounds in 28 games with the Wizards and Flyers last season.

Stinson finished his collegiate career ranked 11th all-time in Iowa State history in scoring (1,651 points), fourth in steals (200), seventh in assists (448) and 10th in three-point field goals made (80). He notched 34 career 20-point games while leading the Cyclones in scoring in each of his three seasons.

Johnsen played in eight games for the Flash after being acquired in a trade with the Bakersfield Jam on Jan. 10, averaging 28.8 minutes, 9.8 points and 5.8 rebounds.

Stinson is expected to be in uniform tonight when the Flash (14-13) visits the Austin Toros (16-9). He will wear jersey No. 2.
